The 2026 MotoGP season was officially inaugurated with a historic street circuit showcase at the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur on February 7, 2026. For the first time, the global season launch was held in Malaysia, transforming the city center into a high-octane parade featuring 20 elite riders, including reigning world champion Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia. Thousands of fans gathered to witness the unveiling of new team liveries and watch the riders perform demonstrations on a temporary 1.5km circuit.

The event solidifies Malaysia’s position as a premier hub for international motorsports ahead of the season opener later this month. Despite light rain, the atmosphere remained electric with performances by local pop group DOLLA and international acts. This launch serves as a precursor to the 2026 Malaysian MotoGP, which remains one of the most anticipated fixtures on the racing calendar.
