World No. 2 Jannik Sinner made a triumphant return to the court at the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha, defeating Tomas Machac 6-1, 6-4 in his opening match. This was Sinner's first competitive appearance since his narrow semi-final loss to Novak Djokovic at the Australian Open late last month. The Italian showed no signs of rust, never facing a single break point throughout the match.

In other Doha action, fourth-seeded Daniil Medvedev, the 2023 champion, also advanced comfortably with a straight-sets victory over China's Juncheng Shang. Meanwhile, at the Dubai Open, the women's draw saw major upsets as former US Open champion Emma Raducanu fell in the first round to world No. 67 Antonia Ruzic.

The week's tennis schedule remains packed, with top seeds like Elena Rybakina and defending champion Mirra Andreeva set to begin their campaigns on Tuesday. Fans are closely watching Sinner’s progress in Doha as he aims to reclaim his momentum following his title defense failure in Melbourne.
