Malaysia has officially secured its places in the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cup Finals, scheduled to take place from April 24 to May 3 in Horsens, Denmark. Although both the men's and women's squads fell short of automatic qualification after exiting the Asian Team Championships in the quarter-finals in Qingdao, China, they progressed based on their strong world rankings.
The national teams will join other top Asian powerhouses including Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, and India. This confirmation allows the Academy Badminton Malaysia to begin intensive preparations for the world team meet, aiming to improve on their recent regional performances.
Fans are particularly focused on the men's team composition, as top singles player Lee Zii Jia has yet to respond to the training invite for the finals. The upcoming months will be crucial for the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to finalize a competitive roster to challenge for the prestigious titles on European soil.
