The Malaysian national women's hockey team, known as the Speedy Tigress, is set to travel to Santiago, Chile, for the 2026 FIH World Cup Qualifiers starting March 1. Head coach Mohd Nasihin Nubli Ibrahim has emphasized that this mission is primarily focused on exposing younger players to high-level international competition.

The squad features six players from the 2025 Junior World Cup, highlighting a strategic shift toward long-term development. Malaysia has been drawn into a challenging Group B alongside Ireland, Canada, and Japan, with their opening match scheduled against Ireland on March 3.

Coach Nasihin stated that the team's focus remains on "performance and process" rather than immediate trophy expectations. The tournament serves as a vital platform for the Malaysian Hockey Confederation to gauge the progress of the women's program against some of the top-ranked teams in the world.
