In a major political development, the Kepala Batas and Tanjong divisions of Bersatu have announced their dissolution, involving nearly 3,000 members. Division leaders cited a loss of confidence in party president Muhyiddin Yassin's leadership as the primary reason for the mass resignation. They expressed that Malay unity is a priority and indicated their support for Hamzah Zainudin's leadership. 

The outgoing leaders suggested that members would transition to a yet-to-be-announced political platform, with former Penang assemblyman Khaliq Mehtab Ishaq stating that "the ship is already there" and ready to sail. This move marks a significant internal rift within the opposition party, potentially reshaping alliances in the coming months.
