In the DP World Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 held in Bangkok, the Malaysia Women’s national cricket team faced a tough challenge against Bangladesh A Women on 18 February 2026. Opting to bat first, Bangladesh A posted a formidable total of 151/7 in their 20 overs, led by a standout performance from Lata Mondal, who scored 48 runs. Despite an early breakthrough by Malaysia’s Nur Dania Syuhada, who claimed a wicket in the opening over, the Malaysian bowlers struggled to contain the Bangladeshi middle order.

The run chase proved insurmountable for Malaysia, as they were restricted to just 61/9 in their allotted 20 overs, resulting in a 90-run victory for Bangladesh A. Nur Arianna Natsya was the top scorer for Malaysia with 22 runs, but the rest of the batting lineup faltered against a clinical bowling attack led by Fatema Jahan, who took 3 wickets for just 10 runs. This loss at the TerdThai Cricket Ground puts Malaysia in a difficult position as the group stage of the tournament progresses.
