A former director of a telecommunications company was charged at the Kuala Lumpur Criminal Sessions Court today for offering an RM8 million bribe to a bank chief in 2012. The bribe was allegedly intended to secure approval for a RM400 million loan facility for a fibre optic project. The suspect, a man in his 50s, also faces charges for submitting documents containing false particulars.
In a separate legal development, a cleaning services company director pleaded not guilty in Penang to nine counts of failing to pay nearly RM40,000 in service tax and penalties between 2021 and 2024.
