The highly anticipated Back to the Past Plus + Multiverse Edition officially premieres in Malaysian cinemas today. Starring Louis Koo, the film has already dominated the regional box office, surpassing RM15 million in Malaysia alone before this special edition release. This time-travel epic reunites fans with the iconic characters Hong Siu Long and the Qin Emperor after two decades, following a wrongful case that threatens to rewrite history.

Other major theatrical releases hitting the big screens in Malaysia today include the crime thriller Crime 101, starring Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal. The plot follows a high-stakes heist along the 101 freeway involving a master thief and an insurance broker. Horror fans can also catch the science-fiction thriller Iron Lung, adapted from the popular indie game, and the latest installment of the slasher franchise, Scream 7, featuring the return of Neve Campbell.

For those preferring home viewing, the local film Amira Amir, which explores themes of identity and family, launches today on Astro First and Sooka. While approved by the censorship board, producers deliberately chose a home release during the Ramadan period to encourage intimate family discussions. Additionally, the 4th Iranian Film Festival continues its run across several major Malaysian locations, offering free screenings to celebrate cinematic excellence.
