His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, has personally paid RM10 million in zakat for the year 2026. The zakat cheque was handed over to the Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAINJ) chief executive officer, Mohd Radzi Mohd Amin, during a ceremony held at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Bahru today. The handover was witnessed by the Johor Mufti and the director of the Johor Islamic Religious Department. 

This significant contribution follows the King’s long-standing tradition of supporting Islamic welfare and charitable initiatives within the state of Johor and nationwide. The funds are expected to be distributed among various "asnaf" (eligible recipients) to alleviate financial burdens during the upcoming Ramadan and Aidilfitri season.
