In a major blow to the Trump administration, Joe Kent, the head of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, officially resigned today in protest of the ongoing war against Iran. Kent, a prominent figure within the MAGA base, stated that his resignation was a response to a strategy he believes is "contradictory and improvised." His departure signals a growing divide within the administration as internal dissent becomes more public regarding the military operations in the Middle East.

President Trump addressed the resignation today, remaining defiant and stating that the U.S. "does not need" help from NATO or other allies to handle operations in the Strait of Hormuz. Despite this, international pressure is mounting as more than 150 deaths have already been confirmed in recent maritime strikes. The resignation has sparked a fierce "beef" among online supporters of the administration, with many debating the long-term impact of the conflict on the U.S. economy and global stability.

Meanwhile, world leaders are reacting to the vacancy in the U.S. counterterrorism leadership during a period of high alert. Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia and the UAE have intercepted multiple drones and missiles in the last few hours, further highlighting the volatility of the region. The U.S. court is also currently hearing a defense from the administration regarding the blacklisting of the AI firm Anthropic, which was designated a "supply chain risk" shortly after the war began.
