Mumbai Indians (MI) finally ended their 13-season streak of losing opening matches by chasing down a massive target of 221 to beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets on March 29. Former captain Rohit Sharma led the charge with a blistering 78 off 38 balls, including six sixes, while Ryan Rickelton top-scored with 81 off 43 deliveries. The pair's aggressive batting allowed MI to reach 224/4 with five balls to spare at the Wankhede Stadium.

This followed the season opener on March 28, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) crushed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by six wickets. RCB's dominant batting unit chased down SRH's 201/9 in just 15.4 overs, with Virat Kohli anchoring the win with a crucial half-century. The IPL action continues today, March 30, as Rajasthan Royals take on Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati.
