National para track cyclist Nur Suraiya Muhamad Zamri delivered a standout performance to secure gold in the women's sprint event at the 2026 Asian Track Cycling Championships (ACC) in Tagaytay City, Philippines. Partnering with pilot Farina Shawati Mohd Adnan, the duo successfully defended their title, contributing to a total of three golds for the Malaysian para-cycling contingent. This dominant showing reinforces Malaysia's regional strength in para-cycling ahead of larger international competitions later this year.

While the para-cyclists excelled, the elite national riders faced a tougher challenge, missing out on podium finishes in their respective categories. However, junior rider Mohd Eirzam Eidham Che Mazri ended an 11-year drought for Malaysia in the boys' keirin event, capturing a silver medal. The overall performance at the ACC reflects a growing grassroots talent pool that officials hope will form the foundation for Malaysia's first-ever Olympic gold at the Los Angeles 2028 Games.
