The Badminton Asia Championships 2026 are set to begin in Ningbo, China, with Malaysia's top pair, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, entered as defending mixed doubles champions. They aim to replicate their success from the 2024 edition where they secured the title.

One major blow for the Malaysian contingent is the absence of Lee Zii Jia, who is currently recovering from an ankle injury. In his absence, the Malaysian men's singles charge will look toward younger talents to step up against a world-class field led by Shi Yuqi and Jonatan Christie.

The tournament serves as a critical testing ground for the national squad before the BWF World Championships later this year. Fans are also tracking the progress of Justin Hoh, who has shown promising form in recent team competitions, including a notable win over Indonesia’s Zaki Ubaidillah in February.
