The Formula 1 paddock is reacting to the confirmed departure of Gianpiero Lambiase, Max Verstappen’s long term race engineer, who will move from Red Bull to McLaren at the end of his contract in 2027. This "blockbuster move" is seen as a major strategic gain for McLaren as they look to challenge Red Bull's dominance in the coming seasons.

On the track, young talent Kimi Antonelli has taken the lead in the 2026 Drivers' Championship after back to back Grand Prix wins, including a recent victory in Japan. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton has been busy at Ferrari's Fiorano track, completing over 140 laps of wet weather tyre testing for Pirelli to help develop future compounds.

In other news, Formula E has officially unveiled details for its Gen4 car, which is expected to produce over 800 bhp and significantly bridge the performance gap between it and Formula 1. The 2026 season has also seen F1's cost cap rise to $190 million to account for the increased costs of new power unit regulations coming into effect.
