Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who also serves as the Finance Minister, announced a bolder target of RM2 billion in investments from government linked investment companies (GLICs). This initiative is part of the MADANI framework's commitment to strengthening the Bumiputera Commercial and Industrial Community (BCIC). The goal is to transform Bumiputera entrepreneurs into high performing, competitive contributors to the national economy.

In addition to the investment target, the plan includes a goal to achieve at least 10 new public listings within the next five years. The government aims to nurture "Bumiputera champions" capable of building companies with valuations reaching up to RM500 million. Anwar emphasized that these benchmarks are more than just numbers; they represent a symbolic determination to elevate the economic standing of Bumiputeras to a more sustainable level.

The announcement reinforces the government's broader strategy of creating a more inclusive and competitive economy where Bumiputera businesses act as key drivers. This strategic support is expected to accelerate growth and expand market presence for local enterprises over the coming years. Analysts suggest that this move will provide a significant boost to investor confidence within the domestic market.
