Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officially opened the 19th edition of the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security Asia (NATSEC) exhibition today at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC). During his keynote address, Anwar emphasized that Malaysia's "active non-alignment" policy is a key commercial advantage, allowing local suppliers to integrate into global defence supply chains without the political complications often found elsewhere. He called on global industry leaders to deepen their collaboration with Malaysian manufacturers, citing the country's established culture of precision and accountability.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the government's commitment to policy reforms and continuous engagement with fund managers, noting that global funds have recently bought over US$2 billion in Malaysian bonds, the highest inflow in ten months. Despite the economic tremors caused by the ongoing conflict in West Asia, Anwar assured that Malaysia would maintain its discipline in pursuing economic stability. He also stressed the importance of responsible governance in the face of rapidly advancing technologies like artificial intelligence and cyber capabilities.

The exhibition, which runs until Thursday, serves as a major international platform for conventional defence systems, electronic warfare, and internal security solutions. It has brought together government officials, military personnel, and industry professionals from around the world. Anwar’s presence at the event underscores Malaysia’s ambition to become a high-value hub in the global defence and aerospace sectors, leveraging its neutral diplomatic stance to attract diversified investments.
