PETALING JAYA: National mixed doubles pair Jimmy Wong-Cheng Su Yin saved six match points today to pull off a dramatic comeback against a home pair and book their place in the quarter-finals of the Korea Masters.

Trailing 17-20 in the deciding game, the three-month-old partnership fought back to beat South Korea’s Kim Joon Young-Lee Yu Lim 13-21, 21-15, 25-23 in a thrilling second-round match that lasted just over an hour.

Jimmy-Su Yin will face South Korea’s Kim Jae Hyeon-Jang Ha Jeong for a place in the semi-finals.

Their victory today means Malaysia will have three mixed doubles pairs in tomorrow’s quarter-finals.

The other two pairs are Chen Tang Jie-Clarissa San and Loo Bing Kun-Noraqilah Maisarah Ramdan.
