PETALING JAYA: A 16-year-old boy was among two motorcyclists killed in an accident at Persiaran Raja Muda Musa in Klang following illegal motorcycle racing.
A 17-second video, which went viral, showed the motorcycle crashes on the road.
South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said the incident occurred at about 4.30 am on Sunday (Aug 4) when a group of illegal racers or "mat rempit" had ridden their motorcycles fast and dangerously from Kompleks Sukan Pandamaran to Port Klang before turning back and doing loops.
"One of the riders lost control of their vehicle before being rammed by other motorcycles.
"Two riders, aged 16 and 21, died at the scene while another suffered injuries and was brought to a hospital," he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 5).
ACP Cha said the location was often used for illegal races despite several operations and arrests conducted.
"We advise parents to always be wary of their children's activities so that they are not involved in illegal races," he said.
The case is classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, he said.
"We urge those with information on the incident to contact Traffic investigating officer Insp Mohd Khairul Nizam at 010-2452144."
