SEREMBAN, Sept 19* — A lorry driver involved in a 10-vehicle pile-up on Jalan Seremban-Tampin (near the Bidara traffic light) is suspected of testing positive for methamphetamine.

According to Seremban Police Chief ACP Mohammad Hatta Che Din, a remand order for the 38-year-old driver will be sought today. The accident, which occurred around 1:25 PM, resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man who was trapped in his Proton Iswara after being struck by a lorry carrying stones.

Additionally, a 48-year-old woman is currently in the intensive care unit at Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital for a broken right hand, while others with minor injuries were treated and discharged.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the pile-up happened while vehicles were moving slowly. The Hino lorry driver, traveling from Tampin to Seremban, is believed to have lost control, leading to the crash. The driver’s urine test confirmed methamphetamine use.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities encourage anyone with information about the incident to contact the nearest police station or the investigation officer at 019 4611794. The case is being investigated under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
