A five-year-old girl, Nur Afiqah Sofea Hazlin, and her 18-year-old brother, Muhammad Amirul Hazlin, tragically died after their motorcycle crashed into a roadside dumpster along the Sungai Udang-Paya Rumput-Ayer Keroh (SPA) Highway in Melaka. 

Melaka Tengah OCPD, ACP Christopher Patit, said the accident occurred around 6:15 pm on Monday (Sept 23), when Muhammad Amirul failed to notice the roll-on roll-off (RoRo) bin. The siblings would visit their father's grave before joining the family for dinner.

Both victims succumbed to their injuries at Melaka Hospital between Monday evening and early Tuesday. Police are investigating under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and are seeking witnesses and the bin's owner for further investigation.
