LONDON, Oct 2 — Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has successfully overturned his three-match suspension following a red card he received in the 3-0 loss to Tottenham. The referee, Chris Kavanagh, issued the red card for a high tackle on James Maddison, but video evidence showed that Fernandes slipped before the collision, with Maddison himself agreeing that the challenge didn't warrant such a penalty.
After United appealed the decision, the English Football Association (FA) confirmed that Fernandes' dismissal was wrongful. The FA stated that he is now eligible to play in the upcoming matches against Aston Villa, Brentford, and West Ham.
This news comes as a relief to manager Erik ten Hag, who is under pressure with the team currently sitting 13th in the Premier League after just two wins in their first six matches.
