Indian cinema has long celebrated the stories of brave individuals who sacrificed their lives for the country, allowing their families to witness their legacies on the big screen. However, this also brings the painful experience of reliving their grief. Director Rajkumar Periasamy’s film *Amaran aims to honor Late Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Ashoka Chakra recipient, alongside his wife, Indhu Rebecca Varghese. Produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, the film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi as the couple. Indhu recently participated in a promotional event, sharing her thoughts on the project.**
When asked about her initial reaction to the film's concept, Indhu recalled Mukund's admiration for Kamal Haasan, saying, “He would have been excited.”
Reflecting on her journey since Mukund's passing in 2014, Indhu mentioned the bittersweet mix of pride and sadness she felt attending events honoring him. She had stepped back to focus on their daughter but felt guilty for not discussing Mukund over the years. Indhu described Rajkumar’s approach as a sign from the universe, motivating her to share Mukund’s story. “This is solely for Mukund. I want to bring him back to life and relive those moments,” she expressed.
Sai Pallavi, portraying Indhu in the film, highlighted Indhu’s use of present tense when speaking about Mukund, calling it “beyond selfless love.” Indhu simply responded, “I just love him. I think that’s just how you love.
