Three Charged Over Genting Highlands Casino Brawl Sparked by RM100 Insurance Chip Dispute
KUANTAN, Nov 6 — Three men faced charges after a fight broke out at a Genting Highlands casino on Oct 23, reportedly over a dispute involving a RM100 insurance chip.
According to Bentong District police chief, Supt. Zaiham Mohd, the brawl erupted around 3:15 p.m., involving seven locals and one foreigner. Three of the suspects, aged between 39 and 70, had prior records for violent and property-related offenses. The police received a report about the incident at 5:55 p.m. that same day.
Several individuals sustained minor injuries and were treated in hospital. While three suspects were charged under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting, the others were released following the Pahang deputy public prosecutor’s decision.
A 52-second video of the altercation later went viral on social media, drawing widespread reactions. Zaiham urged the public to avoid speculation, as the case has been fully investigated and brought to court.
