Transport Ministry Bans Charging Devices on Express Buses After Teen's Fatal Electrocution*
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — The Transport Ministry has imposed a temporary ban on the use of electrical sockets aboard express buses following the tragic death of a teenager in Penang, who was electrocuted while charging his mobile phone.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) implemented the ban as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.
Loke explained that buses equipped with charging sockets will be temporarily prohibited from service until the cause of the accident is determined. A Special Task Force has been formed to investigate, with a full report expected within 14 days.
