Two Security Guards Detained After RM1 Million Cash Bag Goes Missing in Ampang*
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — Police have arrested two security guards, a 52-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, in connection with the disappearance of a bag containing RM1,071,000 in cash from a bank collection in Ampang.
The arrests occurred on Wednesday night, just hours after the bag was reported missing following a cash collection by their security company. Both guards were in the security van at the time, and urine tests showed no signs of drug use. They have no prior criminal records.
The cash bag was later discovered on Jalan Hulu Kelang, having likely fallen from the vehicle while navigating a sharp turn. The two guards will be remanded for four days as investigations proceed under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
