PETALING JAYA: A nephew, who became frustrated and lost his patience over his aunt’s overbearing and controlling behavior, is believed to be behind the death of a woman at a house in Taman Puteri Lindungan Bintang, Ipoh, yesterday.

Acting Perak police chief Zulkafli Sariaat said the 21-year-old suspect was believed to have repeatedly punched his 54-year-old victim, Bernama reported.

“This caused her to fall down a flight of stairs. He then confined her in a room for four days,” Zulkafli said.

The incident only came to light when the victim’s sibling, concerned after not seeing her for several days, went to the house.

He detected a foul odor and found the body.

Yesterday, Ipoh police chief Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad confirmed that the suspect had been detained to assist in the murder investigation.
