A retired Malaysian Armed Forces officer and motivational speaker, Major (R) Mohamad Qayyum Badaruddin, 56, has accused a serving MAF officer of threatening and assaulting him during a session at Dewan Tun Templer, Sungai Besi Camp, on November 10. Qayyum claims the officer, who is believed to be from the MAF Counselling Unit, became aggressive when his session was delayed. He was allegedly threatened with a punch, had his neck grabbed, and was dragged aside in front of around 200 cadets and officers. Qayyum, who continues to contribute to the military community as a speaker and author, is seeking an apology. The Cheras police have launched an investigation into the incident.
