Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reiterated that anyone involved in corruption must face prosecution, in line with the MADANI Government's anti-corruption stance. However, he emphasized that actions must be transparent, fair, and based on the capabilities of enforcement agencies.
Regarding a whistleblower linked to the alleged bribery case involving eight state assemblymen, Anwar confirmed he had not received a protection request. He stated that protection would only be granted to genuine whistleblowers who are not involved in corruption. Anwar stressed that the Prime Minister’s role should not be used to shield anyone from justice, urging that cases be left to the relevant authorities to handle professionally.
