Woman Who Killed 3 UiTM Students in Hit-and-Run to Undergo Another Month of Psychiatric Evaluation*
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 — A woman who killed three Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Dungun students in a hit-and-run incident will undergo an additional month of psychiatric evaluation. Magistrate Nur Farahin Shazlin Mohd Reduan Shah Edwin approved the extension to complete the assessment of 49-year-old Norizan Ismail.
On October 15, Norizan was ordered to undergo a month-long mental health evaluation at Hospital Permai, Johor Baru, after being charged with the murders. Deputy Public Prosecutor Azizan Abdullah confirmed that the extension was requested by the hospital due to the lack of prior mental health records.
The incident occurred on October 9 when Norizan, driving an SUV, struck two motorcycles carrying four students returning to campus. Three students—Ku Adib Aizad Ku Azmi, Khairil Anwar Jamaludin, and Muhammad Akmal Md Tukirin—died at the scene. Another student, Muhammad Ammar Danish Mohd Ridhuan, survived and was treated at Dungun Hospital.
