Sabah Electricity Workers Injured in Crash While Fleeing Angry Villager*

LAHAD DATU, Nov 19 — Two Sabah Electricity personnel were injured when their vehicle crashed into an oil palm tree while trying to escape an angry villager in Kampung Sepagaya yesterday.

The incident occurred around 11:30 am when the employees were conducting an operation to disconnect illegal electricity connections. While stopped to review their next task, a man in a black Toyota Vigo confronted them, attempting to forcibly open their vehicle’s door. In panic, the workers fled, but the suspect chased them. As both vehicles sped off, the workers lost control, and their vehicle crashed into a tree.

One worker suffered a minor injury to his hand, and the other sprained his leg. A police report was filed, and Sabah Electricity has vowed to take legal action against anyone who threatens or obstructs their staff during official duties.
