The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) has announced that the monsoon surge currently bringing heavy rain to the eastern and southern regions of Peninsular Malaysia is expected to last until the end of November. Director-General Datuk Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip warned that the surge could intensify between November 27 and December 1, bringing prolonged and very heavy rainfall, particularly in the east. MET Malaysia is monitoring the situation closely and will issue further warnings if necessary.
