Flood Situation Update: Kelantan Evacuations Rise, No Change in Terengganu, Melaka, and Johor
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 — Flooding in Kelantan has worsened, with more residents evacuated, while the situation in Terengganu, Melaka, and Johor remains stable.
In Kelantan, the number of evacuees has increased to 76, following the opening of a new relief centre in Pasir Mas, sheltering 32 victims. Water levels in several rivers, including Sungai Golok, remain above warning levels.
In Terengganu, evacuees have slightly decreased to 228, with 191 victims from 36 families in Marang and 37 victims from seven families in Dungun. River levels in the state, including Sungai Chalok and Sungai Nerus, have surpassed alert levels.
In Melaka, the number of evacuees has dropped slightly to 220, with 185 people from 49 families in Melaka Tengah and 35 people in Pantai Kundur.
Johor sees no change, with one relief center still open in Segamat, sheltering 11 victims. Five rivers across the state remain at warning levels.
