KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 — Malaysia and Thailand have set an ambitious US$30 billion (RM134 billion) trade target by 2027, reaffirming their commitment to boosting bilateral investment and trade through the Joint Task Force on Trade and Investment.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the potential of both nations' economies, stating that while the goal may seem ambitious, it is essential. In a joint press conference with Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Anwar highlighted the need for focused investment in Malaysia’s northern provinces, similar to the development needs in Thailand's southern regions.
