Court to Decide on Joint Trial for Five Family Members in Ulu Tiram Police Attack Case on Jan 20"

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 — The High Court has scheduled Jan 20 to hear the prosecution's request for a joint trial of five family members linked to the Ulu Tiram police station attack case.

The family members—suspect Radin Imran Radin Mohd Yassin, his parents Radin Imran (62) and Rosna Jantan (59), and siblings Radin Romyullah (34), Farhah Sobrina (23), and Mariah (19)—face various terrorism-related charges.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Yazid Mustaqim Roslan argued that the five should be tried together due to their familial ties. The defence, represented by lawyer Faizal Rahman, will submit a response after receiving the necessary case documents.

The charges against the family members include terrorism support, withholding information on terrorist activities, and possession of materials related to terrorist groups. These charges stem from a series of events culminating in the May 17 attack on the Ulu Tiram police station, which led to the deaths of two police officers and the injury of another.

The court will review the prosecution’s application on Jan 20.
