Nursery Worker Arrested in Selangor Over Alleged Abuse of 11-Month-Old Baby

KUALA LUMPUR — A 24-year-old nursery worker in Puncak Alam, Selangor, was arrested on Saturday for suspected abuse of an 11-month-old baby boy. The arrest followed a report from the baby’s father, who noticed bruises on his son's face after picking him up from the nursery on December 13.

The father was told the bruises were from a fall off a table, but after speaking to the nursery supervisor, he filed a police report. The baby was taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for treatment.

Police have reviewed CCTV footage and recorded statements from four people to aid the investigation. The woman, who has worked at the nursery for three years, is currently under remand until December 18. The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(A) of the Child Act 2001.
