MetMalaysia Warns of Floods in 113 Kelantan Villages as Heavy Rain Expected

KOTA BHARU — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a flood warning for 113 villages in Kelantan, anticipating continuous heavy rain from Wednesday to Saturday. The affected areas are mainly low-lying villages within 5 km of the Kelantan River, including locations in Machang, Pasir Mas, Tumpat, and Kota Bharu districts.

The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) cautioned that flooding could occur earlier or later than expected, urging residents to take necessary precautions and follow official instructions.

The affected villages are:

* Machang: Kampung Pasir Senor, Kampung Pengkalan Kiat, Kampung Kerilla, and others.

* Pasir Mas: Kampung Tendong, Kampung Atas Pinggir, Bandar Pasir Mas, and numerous others.

* Tumpat: Bandar Tumpat, Kampung Chat, Kampung Morak, and more.

* Kota Bharu: Kok Lanas, Kampung Pantai Kundur, Kampung Salor, and various others.
