The Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route (KUL-SIN), once the world’s busiest international flight path, has dropped to fourth place in 2024, according to OAG’s annual ranking. The route, with 5.4 million seats, saw a slight decline from its 2023 peak but still experienced a 10% increase compared to the previous year, nearly reaching pre-pandemic levels.

Taking the top spot this year is the Hong Kong-Taipei route (HKG-TPE), which surged by 48% to 6.8 million seats, although it's still 15% below 2019 levels. The second and third busiest routes are Cairo-Jeddah (5.5 million) and Seoul-Tokyo (5.4 million), respectively. Meanwhile, the Bangkok-Hong Kong route entered the Top 10, securing the seventh spot with 4.2 million seats.

The report highlights strong growth in Asia-Pacific routes, with seven of the top 10 busiest international routes located in this region.
