BUTTERWORTH: The Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) has been unable to identify the vendor who sold the gummy candy in the case of a 10-year-old boy who died after choking on the sweets on Tuesday.
Mayor Datuk Baderul Amin Abdul Hamid said checks showed that three vendors were selling snacks in the area.
He added that the gummy candy had reportedly been confiscated by the authorities.
"Checks conducted earlier today found that the vendors are still operating as usual.
"Notices have been issued to those who failed to comply with enforcement guidelines on the sale of food and beverages outside school fences.
"All these premises are located less than 40 metres from the school fence.
