Malaysian world No. 16 pair Wan Arif Junaidi and Yap Roy King put on a dominant tactical performance at the Unifi Arena in Bukit Jalil. The home favorites required just 32 minutes to cruise past the American duo of Chen Zhi Yi and Presley Smith with a 21-15, 21-19 straight games victory. The quarterfinal win extends their unblemished head to head record against the Americans to a perfect 3-0.

This milestone marks only the second Super 500 semifinal appearance of Arif and Roy King’s professional careers. Coincidentally, the last time the local duo made it this deep into a major Super 500 event was also at the Malaysia Masters back in 2024. Their rapid progress has injected immense excitement into the local crowds as the tournament's knockout brackets narrow down.

The remaining homegrown doubles hopes rest heavily on top seeds Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, alongside third seeds Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani. Both high ranking pairs are scheduled for crucial quarterfinal matchups later in the evening. On the women's side, K. Letshanaa continues her historic run after spearheading a solid local showing on the home courts.
