Samsung Electronics has achieved a major milestone after its latest Galaxy Z foldable smartphone lineup recorded the highest number of preorders in the company's history in South Korea.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung secured 1.44 million preorders for its newest foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, during the official presales period.
The new Galaxy Z series is powered by Alphabet's Gemini artificial intelligence (AI), offering smarter features, personalised AI experiences, and devices designed to suit different lifestyles and everyday needs.
The impressive preorder figure surpassed Samsung's previous record of 1.38 million units, which was set by the Galaxy Note 10 in 2019.
The preorder campaign ran from Wednesday through Monday, with Samsung crediting the strong response to its continued leadership in foldable smartphone technology, rising consumer demand for foldable devices, and attractive promotional offers available during the launch period.
Samsung is set to roll out the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series across approximately 100 countries, with the global launch beginning on Friday.
