JITRA, Oct 1 — Muhammad Amir Hakimi, the son of Sabari Baharom, a retired Felcra officer believed to have been murdered and thrown into Sungai Padang Terap, expressed shock after learning one of the suspects was someone his father knew.
Muhammad Amir, 25, said the suspect, a contractor working on a nearby house, had brief chats with his father for months. He described the act as cruel, adding, "My father was always good to him."
Sabari, 62, was reported missing on September 4. Kedah police confirmed he was bound and thrown into the river by two suspects, but his body has yet to be found. Muhammad Amir and his family continue to pray for his father’s recovery as police conduct search efforts amid difficult flood conditions.
Two local suspects, aged 26 and 38, were arrested last Friday in connection with the case.
