BERLIN — A 21-year-old German man was taken into custody after a stabbing attack at the Ueberlandwerke Rhoen utility company in Mellrichstadt, Bavaria, left one person dead and two seriously injured on Tuesday.
Police confirmed that the suspect used a sharp object in the attack and that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities said there is no evidence of any political or terrorist motive behind the incident.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and treated the injured at the scene. The company declined to comment, directing all inquiries to the police.
