PUTRAJAYA — On the eve of their retirement, Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and Court of Appeal President Datuk Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim were honoured by the Malaysian Bar and lawyers for their service to the judiciary.
In an impromptu tribute at the Federal Court, four lawyers expressed gratitude for their integrity, leadership, and contributions. Malaysian Bar vice-president Anand Raj praised Tengku Maimun for her visionary leadership as Malaysia’s first female CJ and Abang Iskandar as the first from Sabah and Sarawak to hold the PCA post.
Lawyers also highlighted Tengku Maimun’s role in restoring public confidence in the judiciary and defending its independence. The session ended with heartfelt wishes for a fulfilling retirement.
Tengku Maimun retires today, with Abang Iskandar following tomorrow.
