Penang Firefighters Rescue Trapped Boy from Burning Apartment

GEORGE TOWN — A 13-year-old boy was rescued from a burning apartment at Taman Sinar Pelangi, Jelutong, thanks to the swift action of Penang firemen last night.

The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 7.26pm and rushed to the scene. The fire had broken out on the balcony, and the boy was trapped alone inside the locked unit.

Firefighters broke down the door, brought the boy to safety, and extinguished the flames. The operation ended at 8.44pm, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
