SINGAPORE — A 17-year-old boy has been charged with criminal trespass and endangering MRT passengers after filming himself walking on active train tracks between Simei and Tanah Merah stations.

The teen allegedly climbed scaffolding and accessed the East-West Line tracks on March 27, forcing trains to pass dangerously close as seen in the viral video. Police were alerted on June 10, and he was arrested on July 1.

He is currently undergoing a mental health assessment and will return to court this month. He faces up to five years’ jail and fines if convicted.
