KUALA LUMPUR — The Finance Ministry (MOF) has introduced transitional measures to help businesses adjust to the expanded Sales and Service Tax (SST) scope, following industry feedback on compliance challenges.

From July 1 to Sept 30, 2025, service providers may manually submit tax statements while still collecting and charging the Service Tax during this period, MOF said in a statement.

Registered manufacturers must also begin imposing and collecting Sales Tax from July 1, but can apply for raw material exemptions via the MySST portal. Companies with prior exemptions through MIDA before July 1 will retain them, subject to existing terms.

MOF expressed hope these steps will ease business operations and compliance. For more details, businesses can contact the Customs hotline at 1-300-888-500.
