PARIS — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed hope that Malaysia’s deepening ties with France will bring long-term benefits, as he prepares to meet French President Emmanuel Macron tomorrow at the Élysée Palace.

Speaking to the Malaysian diaspora here, Anwar highlighted Malaysia’s growing role in high-tech industries, including producing parts for Airbus and Boeing, and urged Malaysian students in France to return and contribute to these sectors.

His official visit, at Macron’s invitation, will focus on strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, renewable energy, semiconductors, defence, education, the digital economy, and AI.

France remains among Malaysia’s top EU trading partners, with bilateral trade hitting RM15.95 billion in 2024. Anwar was joined by key ministers for the visit.
