The Philippines shut schools and cancelled around 70 flights on Thursday as Typhoon Co-May and Tropical Storm Francisco brought heavy rains to northern Luzon.
Typhoon Co-May, with winds of 120km/h, is expected to hit La Union or Ilocos Sur by Friday morning, after days of monsoon rain that have already claimed 12 lives and left 8 missing.
Thousands remain displaced in Manila, with authorities warning of more evacuations if rains persist. The storms are not expected to collide, though Francisco is moving toward northern Taiwan.
