The Sarawak government has signed a multi-billion dollar agreement to export surplus hydroelectric power to Northern Australia via an undersea cable. This ambitious project, titled "Sun-Cable North," is expected to be operational by late 2027.

The deal solidifies Sarawak's position as the "Battery of Southeast Asia." The revenue from this export will be funneled into a sovereign wealth fund to benefit future generations of Sarawakians.
