Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has introduced the Pakej Rahmah Prabayar Siswa, designed to offer affordable connectivity for students enrolling in public higher education institutions (IPTA) and public skills training institutes (ILKA). Although it resembles the Pakej Perpaduan, this new package has some key differences.

Minister Fahmi stated that Pakej Rahmah Prabayar Siswa will provide at least 30GB of data with a validity of 180 days (six months) for no more than RM30. This implies that telcos could offer more data within the 180-day validity period under RM30.

Starting on August 16, 2024, the prepaid plan will be offered through CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM (Unifi Mobile), and Yes 5G.

Under the current administration, the government has teamed up with telecom providers to roll out customized packages. These include Pakej Perpaduan, offering 30GB of data for RM30, Pakej 5G Rahmah with 60GB of data for RM60 plus a RM120 phone bundle, and Pakej pHailing Rahmah starting at RM33 per month.
